About
Thomas White

Hello, and thank you for taking the time to visit my website.

My name is Thomas White, and I’m an online counsellor based on the Wirral, Merseyside. I offer sessions via secure and confidential video calls (using Microsoft Teams) or telephone, depending on your preference.

My approach is flexible and tailored to each individual. I draw on a range of therapeutic models — including Person-Centred, Psychodynamic, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) — and often integrate elements from each to suit your unique needs and goals.

Creating a non-judgemental, calm, and supportive environment is central to my practice. I want every client to feel safe enough to speak openly and honestly, without fear of judgement — no matter their past or present experiences.

What progress have I made?

I have begun to be a friend to myself!

My own experience

I have worked with a wide range of issues including anxiety, depression, trauma (including PTSD), abandonment (such as experiences of growing up in single-parent households or being orphaned/fostered), substance misuse, relationship challenges, and grief or loss.

As a former Royal Marines Commando and veteran, I have a particular passion for supporting those currently serving or who have served in the armed forces. I understand how difficult it can be to find someone who truly “gets it” — and I aim to provide a space where you feel understood, respected, and supported.

Many of the challenges I help others with are ones I’ve faced myself, which deepens my empathy and strengthens the therapeutic relationship I offer. Counselling isn’t just my work — it’s one of my greatest passions, bringing me a strong sense of purpose and belonging.

I’m committed to ongoing professional growth and regularly undertake further training and development. This allows me to provide the most up-to-date, informed, and compassionate care for you as my client.
